Welcome to Sky Jumpers Vertical Sports Club (also known as the SJVSC). Our club is directed by 1972 Olympic Bronze Medalist and National Pole Vault Hall of Fame member Jan Johnson. Jan runs several camps around the country teaching basic and advanced techniques of pole vaulting. Jan is also the Chairman of the National Pole Vault Safety Committee and the Co-director of the National Pole Vault Coaches certification program www.pvscb.com. He has coached a number of world class pole-vaulters including the 1997 World Championships bronze medalist Dean Starkey (19'5"), Greg Duplantis (19'0")1988, Simon Arkell former Austrialia Record Holder (19'4)1991, Shayla Balentine former National HS record holder (13'8)2001, and his daughter Chelsea Johnson (15'61/2") 2009 World championships Silver medalist.

Learning the Basics - Every athlete that comes to camp will learn all of the basic fundamentals of the pole-vault. All the latest drills and training techniques are demonstrated by Jan and his many expert coaching assistants.
