National Indoor Records Set using Safety Max winged and tapered collar

We have now completed an entire NCAA indoor season.  This past weekend at the Reebok HS indoor championships where both the National Indoor HS records for men and women were set using the winged and tapered collar .  Additionally the NCAA championships were contested with one of the strongest finishes for both men and women without a problem using F2949 collars, and women’s new meet record.

Notes and outside correspondence:

From:  Jim Henderson, Long Island NY (Long time respect PV coach in the east)  at the Reebok HS indoor, via txt message  “ one boy at the Indoor HS nationals landed squarely on the top of the back just like your  pic of Kasey Burlingham some months ago. He was shaken up but walked off under his own power and jumped again later. “

From: Mike Mannon Cuesta college via txt message @ the Cal State Fullerton Invite  “ right after you left a kid landed on his butt in the box and he was fine

From : Dennis McClanahan, long time friend and elite track and field coach Mt. Carmel HS San Diego, Ca: “We have installed the new collars here at Mt. Carmel.  In a recent meet two vaulters came down into the box feet first and landed on their rear end on the edge of the box, on both occasions the vaulters walked away with a sore rear end but nothing more.  Without the collars they would have hit that steel edge where the box meets the old box collar. I realize these are a work in progress but I do think they add a element of new safety to the vault.”

From: Chris Manuele, ASU 16’9” vaulter : Jan I landed in the box bad up at Flagstaff. They have the winged collar and it saved my Butt! Here is the video.
